Pest control is the regulation or management of a species defined as a pest, usually because it is perceived to be detrimental to a person's health. Pest can be mice, rats, racoons, seagulls, and various species of bugs that can harm crops. Many types of pest control can be used including: traps, elimination of breeding grounds, poisoned bait, field burning, hunting, poison spray, sterilization, destruction of infected plants, natural rodent control and repellents. The term exterminator is also used when referring to pest control services. Large infestations of bugs or rodents can required the services of a trained pest control specialist.
