About Painting
Painting is the process of coating surfaces with paint. The domestic use of the word painting or painter normally refers to interior or exterior painting of a house or building. While many people today prefer to paint their own houses, a professional painter can usually perform the duties in a fraction of time with no mistakes. Painters are usually responsible for preparation of the surface to be painted, such as scraping, sanding, caulking, drywall or word repair, wallpaper removal, patching, stain removal, cleaning, taping and priming, applying the paint and then cleaning up after completion. In the past, painters would mix paint themselves, but with the ever growing availability of good commercial paint most painters purchase paint. Some painters are also proficient in home or business decorating services. Some tools used by painters are: brushes, paint rollers, sanders, scrapers, paint sprayers, ladders and scaffolding. Painting is truly an art when you consider the various types of brushes and rollers and the fact that different types of paint require different tools. The purpose of painting a surface in not only to make it look better but also to protect it from corrosion, mold, stains, etc.
