About Locks and Locksmiths
Locksmiths are defined as craftsmen who are familiar with making, changing and/or repairing locks. Locks are found in various places such as houses, buildings, objects, cabinets, rooms, or other storage facilities. Locksmiths are commonly called to change or re-key locks in a new home/office or open a locked vehicle. Locksmiths can specialize in automotive lock specialist, a master key system specialist or a safe technician or other types of locks. Many locksmiths are also security consultants. Locksmiths are frequently certified in specific skill areas or to a level of skill within the trade. The art of locks and Locksmiths began as the science and art of making locks. In the past, locksmiths made the entire lock by hand cutting screws and doing much file-work. With the current mass produced locks, many modern locksmiths use exchanging of parts or similar part replacement in daily tasks. A key is often used to open a lock. Some advanced locks can require two-factor authentication for greater security. In two-factor authentication you would need both something you know (such as a combination) and something you have (such as a key or keycard). These types of locks are often used in secure places of business.
